Gina Van Dyke Stage School

Gina Van Dyke Stage School provides regular dance classes

on Saturdays 10.15am and Tuesdays in the Raeburn Hall.

Gina Van Dyke Stage School offer the opportunity for children aged between 18months and 19 years the chance to explore the beauty of dance.   The school caters for children of all abilities and provides individual targets to meet the needs of each child.
We hold a dedicated class that runs on a Saturday morning at 9:45 for the youngest students (18m-3yrs) to welcome them in to the world of dance. We have multiple staff who can support each student as we find in our experience that for our “first timers” it can be a scary experience, this is often the first taste of being away from “mum”. However some students don’t look back they we born brave and run in ready to dance!
For those who are able to pick up the steps quickly and who are fractionally older (4-6) there is a different class which runs slightly later, this class aims to begin correcting and laying out the foundation of Ballet and Tap.
For full details see https://www.ginavandykestageschool.co.uk/

Established in 1966 with over 50 years experience. Our school aims to improve children’s physical, intellectual, creative and emotional well-being through the medium of dance, whilst learning the importance of fitness, having fun and self-confidence.

Pilates is a form of exercise that builds strength, improves flexibility and develops control over the whole body. Movements are infinitely adaptable so that they can be enjoyed by everybody, both those not used to exercising regularly or recovering from injury, as well as those looking for a more challenging workout. The exercises promote good back health.

Pilates mat classes are appropriate for young and not so young, men and women.

I run classes on Monday and Wednesday in Surbiton and Friday in New Malden.

Classes are small and friendly! Class sizes are limited to 12 so that individual attention and correction can be given.

PILOTS - Children's Club

CONTACT: Gillian Jones 02083934270 or email rjones@urcsouthern.org.uk

Pilots is an ecumenical, non-uniformed organisation open to all children and young people. We believe that every child and young person matters. Consequently, Pilots aims to meet the needs of each community in which it functions, offering children and young people safe and caring environments to flourish in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.

Adventurers for 7-10 year olds at Tolworth United Reformed Church every (term time) Monday 5.30pm
Voyagers for 11-14 year olds To be advised
Navigators for 14-18 year olds To be advised

Pilots at Tolworth:  Pilots offers a flexible and adaptable programme for children and young people with the core elements of worship, learning and service. It gives a strong identity, linked to a broader organisation in the United Reformed Church. It is hoped that this will help to encourage children from outside Tolworth and build a sense of belonging and commitment for our current children.

At Tolworth we provide the two groups (at the moment), Deckhands (aged 5-6) and Adventurers (aged 7-11).

Pilots has been in existence since 1936 and believes that children and young people matter. Therefore, Pilots gives local churches the chance to share the love of God in the ongoing life of Jesus Christ by inviting children and young people on an exciting journey

Why Pilots

  • Enables self-discovery in a fun, secure environment
  • Gives an opportunity to respond to God
  • Is rooted in the world-wide church
  • Helps children and young people to grow in the Christian faith

History

John Williams was a missionary and with his wife Mary went out to the islands in the South Pacific to take the Christian message.  They spent many years travelling among the islands speaking about Jesus and helping people, but often encountered great danger.  John was eventually murdered.  In 1936 the London Missionary Society invited children all over Britain to save their ship halfpennies and contribute to buying a ship in John’s memory so that his work could continue.  Several ships were bought in this way and the organisation Pilots came into being.

Trefoil Guild

Trefoil Guild is a branch of Girlguiding and its members agree to support the guiding ethos – including the pledge to help other people. Many members pass on their skills and knowledge to local guiding units, from helping Brownies work towards a badge to preparing older girls for a camping adventure. Many members are unit leaders or helpers in Girlguiding units.

Whether you’re involved in guiding or not, Trefoil Guild is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your next adventure – whatever that might be!

But it’s not all about the girls – there are plenty of opportunities for members to try something new, take on a new personal challenge and escape the daily routine. The best thing is that what you do is up to you!

In Trefoil Guild, women and men aged 18+ make new friends, travel, explore, serve their communities and help Guiding (and Scouting) thrive across the UK!

Across the UK, there are over 1,100 Trefoil Guilds with over 20,000 members – some meet every week, others less frequently, perhaps in the evening or in the afternoon.

A Guiding interest and support group for adults meeting in Tolworth and Berrylands meets on the first Thursday of each month at 2pm.
